Paul Joye is on a mission to make Santa Fe safer. 

After decades in law enforcement leadership, Paul knows that public safety is still about showing up, using data, and balancing addressing the root causes of crime like poverty, addiction, and mental health challenges with being tough on violent and repeat offenders.  

As Santa Fe County Sheriff, Paul will make it his mission to make Santa Fe safer. That starts with:

• Fully integrate social services and alternative response units into the Sheriff’s Department so that Deputies can focus on violent and repeat offenders

• Reduce response time for 911 and non-emergency calls

• Modernize the Sheriff’s Department with advanced technology and modern training techniques

• Work with state lawmakers to change our State Constitution’s policy on bail reform to stop the revolving door of repeat and violent offenders continuing to commit crimes while they await trial.
